Kentucky seniors Antonio Reeves and Tre Mitchell guided the Wildcats to a 90-77 conference win over Mississippi State Wednesday night at Rupp Arena.
The victory improved UK's record to 13-3 overall (3-1 in SEC). MSU dropped to 12-5 (1-3 SEC). Coach John Calipari reached a coaching milestone by capturing his 400th win at Kentucky.
Reeves and Mitchell led UK with 27 and 15 points, respectively. Reeves also hit all nine of his free throws with Mitchell making four of four from the line. Freshman Rob Dillingham added 16 points and freshman Aaron Bradshaw hit 11 points.
UK freshman Reed Sheppard made nine points and had a game-high-tying six assists and two steals in 30 minutes of action.
In the rebounding department, sophomore Ugonna Onyenso and Bradshaw led Kentucky with six rebounds each. Both teams were even on the boards, grabbing 33 rebounds each.
Kentucky, whose biggest margin was 20 points in the late first half, made nearly 56 percent of its field goals overall, while the Bulldogs, led by Tolu Smith III's team-high 26 points, hit 44.9 percent of its shots.
The next game for the Wildcats is Saturday when they face Georgia at Rupp Arena. The 6 p.m. ET contest will be televised by the SEC Network.
