UPDATE: The 13th Region high school baseball tournament championship game has been moved to the University of Cumberlands and the contest will begin tonight (Tuesday, June 8) at 9 p.m. ET

Middlesboro High School avenged its earlier loss to Jackson County with a thrilling 7-6 victory over the Generals in the semifinals of the 13th Region baseball tournament held at Jackson County Monday night.

The Yellow Jackets (17-14) now will meet Whitley County (29-9), which defeated Knox Central 8-5 in the other semifinal showdown, for the regional championship Tuesday evening, beginning at 6 p.m. Middlesboro and Whitley County met once earlier in the season with the host Colonels winning 13-0 after five innings.

Jackson County finished its campaign with a 15-15 mark, while Knox Central dropped to 16-12.
