No. 7 LSU Women Overcome No. 14 Kentucky 65-58

No. 14 Kentucky women had a chance to upset No. 7 LSU in an ESPN matchup Sunday afternoon but the visiting Tigers overcame a 16-point deficit in late second quarter to win 65-58 before a sellout crowd of 6,000 at Historic Memorial Coliseum.
After the intermission, LSU came out fighting, outscoring the Wildcats 32-6 in the third quarter to take the lead. Kentucky rallied in the fourth quarter to take a lead briefly but the Tigers battled out for the win.
Both teams didn't shoot very well. Kentucky hit 32.8 percent of its field goals, while LSU made 36.4 percent.
UK's Clara Silva came off the bench to hit 6 of 6 field goals, scoring 12 points, along with a career-high eight rebounds and three blocks. Georgia Amoore struggled with her field goal shooting, pumping in only 6 of 22 shots for 16 points.
Kentucky dropped to 21-5 overall and 10-4 in SEC, while LSU is 27-2 overall and 12-2 in the league.
The Wildcats will host No. 15 Tennessee on Thursday. The 7 p.m. ET game will be shown on SEC Network.
