No. 4 Alabama was too much for shorthanded No. 17 Kentucky Saturday night as the Crimson Tide beat the Wildcats 96-83 in Tuscaloosa.
Mark Sears gunned in a game-high 30 points, including 11 of 11 free throws, to spark Alabama to its 22nd victory in 27 games. The Crimson Tide is now 11-3 in SEC. UK dropped its overall mark to 18-9 (7-7 in SEC).
Koby Brea hit 20 points, including 4 of 10 three-pointers, to led the Cats' balanced scoring attack. Amari Williams added 17 points while grabbing 11 rebounds, his ninth double-double of the season. He also had six assists.
Kentucky's Andrew Carr also had 17 points along with Travis Perry's career-high 12 points.
UK's biggest lead was in the middle of the first half as it raced to a 12-point margin before Alabama bounced back with a 47-40 halftime advantage.
The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday as they visit Oklahoma. The 9 p.m. ET matchup will be shown on SEC Network.
