Mark Pope Notches 200th Career Coaching Win as Cats Overcome MSU 95-90

First-year Kentucky coach Mark Pope came up with a major milestone of his coaching career, notching his 200th career victory, as the No. 6 Wildcats stopped 14th-ranked Mississippi State 95-90 in Starkville. It was a closely-fought game with 13 lead changes and seven ties.
UK, which improved its mark to 13-3 overall and 2-1 in SEC, is 4-0 this season against AP Top 15 opponents. The four wins against teams ranked inside the top 15 are the most in the country. MSU dropped to 14-2 (2-1 SEC).
Kentucky's Jaxson Robinson scored a game-high 27 points, also a season-high, including 16 in
the first half. Robinson made 7-of-10 three-pointers. Otega Oweh added 15 points and has scored in double figures in every game this season. Oweh also grabbed a season-high eight rebounds and led the team with two steals.
Amari Williams posted his third double-double of the season with 10 points and
12 rebounds. Williams also dished out six assists. Lamont Butler had a game-high eight assists along with 10 points.
Kentucky will face Texas A&M on Tuesday, Jan. 14. The 7 p.m. game will be shown on ESPN2.
