Two former UK players -- Maci Morris and Dominique Hawkins -- will make an appearance in Harlan, Ky., on Saturday, June 8 during the 64th annual Poke Sallet Festival.
They will appear at the Harlan Center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. during a Meet & Greet session. While it is free to meet the players and to take a photo, autographs are $15 each. You can provide your own item for signature or get an autograph on a complimentary photo provided.
This event during the Poke Sallet Festival is sponsored by JRL Coal and the Law Offices of Dan F. Partin. As a special treat and thanks to these two wonderful sponsors, the first 50 attendees to meet Morris and Hawkins will receive a free signed poster from the athlete of their choice.
A Bell County native, Morris was a two-time All-SEC performer who finished her UK career as No. 6 all-time leading scorer with 1,692 points. Hawkins, a Madison Central High product who played four years as a key member of Coach John Calipari's teams, finished his Wildcat career on a high note as he was named to the 2017 All-SEC Tournament first team.
Morris won the Kentucky Miss Basketball honors in 2015, while Hawkins captured Kentucky Mr. Basketball award in 2013.
The Harlan County festival, which takes place on June 6 to 8, is known for showcasing local, regional and national talent along with festive music, crafts and food.
