Kentucky Women Fall Short to Vanderbilt in 81-79 Thriller

No. 16 UK women gave a great effort Sunday afternoon in Nashville but the Wildcats fell short as they dropped to No. 5 Vanderbilt 81-79 before a nice crowd of 6,277.
Kentucky had five players who scored in double figures. Leading the Cats was junior star Clara Strack who had 17 points. She also grabbed seven rebunds and had four blocked shots.

Amelia Hassett added 15 points, including 5 three-pointers. Hassett and Teonni Key, both seniors, also had a team-high eight rebounds. Junior Asia Boone gunned in 13 points, while senior Tonie Morgan and Key each scored 10. Morgan also had nine assists.
Kentucky is now 20-8 overall and 7-7 in SEC. Vanderbilt improved to 25-3 overall and 11-3 in SEC.
UK's next game is Thursday night when the Cats travel to Auburn (14-13 overall, 3-10 SEC). The 7 p.m. ET game will be shown on SEC Network Plus. The Tigers also play against Georgia at home Monday night.
