Longtime Kentucky sportswriter Jamie H. Vaught has penned another book about University of Kentucky men’s basketball, it was announced recently on his personal Facebook page.

Vaught’s new volume, which is expected to be released just in time for March Madness, will be the first one he has written in 16 years. His new book will be similar to his previous four books about UK hoops, featuring profiles of former standouts and individuals associated with the Wildcats.

"No one knows Kentucky basketball better than Jamie Vaught,” said award-winning sportswriter and Pittsburgh native Jim O’Brien, who is a member of U.S Basketball Writers Hall of Fame (2003 class). “He has communicated his passion for UK basketball to me by email and clippings for years. The Wildcats and John Calipari are lucky to have him tell the story of UK basketball.”

Vaught’s first book, titled Crazy About The Cats: From Rupp to Pitino, was published in 1991. A graduate of UK with two degrees, he currently writes columns for several outlets in Kentucky. Currently the editor of growing KySportsStyle.com Magazine, Vaught also wrote columns for The Cats’ Pause magazine for 13 years.

In addition to sportswriting, Vaught is a professor at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College in Middlesboro.

More details about the new book and the publisher will be forthcoming after the Christmas holidays.
