Kentucky Rolls Over Northern Kentucky 79-28
UK women dominated Northern Kentucky 79-28 Thursday night at Historic Memorial Coliseum.
The nonconference game marked the fewest points allowed in a single game by the Wildcats in the Coach Kenny Brooks era. In addition, it is the fewest points allowed for the UK program since holding Jackson State to 24 in 2015.
Kentucky led the Norse 25-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Senior guard Asia Boone of Kentucky scored a game-high 21 points, including 5-of-9 from three-point range. She also grabbed six rebounds.
Me'Arah O'Neal and Clara Strack added 12 and 11 points, respectively. O'Neal snatched five rebounds, while Strack had a game-high 10 rebounds, four blocks, and three steals in only 25 minutes.
Ajša Sivka had 11 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
"You know, this is an opportunity for us to stack some film. We didn’t play the cleanest game," said Brooks. "We had a lot of different rotations, and we were trying to figure out getting people a lot of minutes and whatnot. I thought we got a little bit disjointed later. Didn’t shoot the ball particularly well from three for the second straight game, but we know we have capabilities. But it’s just a good opportunity for us to put together some film, and I’m excited about that. And we’ll continue to build off of it, learn from it, learn each other, and I think that’s the biggest thing we need to do.”
For the game, UK only hit 25.7 percent of its three-pointers.
Said Brooks, "Out of the 35 that we took, maybe five of them were ill-advised, but for the most part they were what we wanted. They were what we’ve been shooting, they were what we’ve been hitting in practice. And even in the scrimmage against Illinois, I think we were like 12 for 24. So they’ll fall. They’ll fall. We understand that. We just got to continue to shoot the right ones and shoot them with confidence.”
Kentucky's next game is Sunday when the Wildcats face NC State in Charlotte. The 3 p.m. ET game will be shown on ESPN2.
