A book signing for two Kentucky sportswriters -- John Huang and Jamie H. Vaught -- will take place on the campus of Georgetown College before a Tigers' men's basketball game on Thursday evening, Dec. 16.
The signing of the books about University of Kentucky basketball will begin around 5:30 p.m. in the lobby area of Davis-Reid Alumni Gym and it will continue until the 7 p.m. game. A co-author with Del Duduit, Huang will sign Kentucky Passion (published by Red Lightning Books), while Vaught will sign his fifth book on UK hoops, Chasing the Cats (Acclaim Press).
Georgetown head coach Chris Briggs, a former UK student manager who is featured in a chapter in Vaught's 256-page paperback, may sign the books for a short period (if time allows) before resuming his coaching duties for the contest against Lindsey Wilson College. He will be available after the game to sign copies if necessary.
A retired orthodontist and military veteran, Huang currently serves as a reporter and sports columnist for Nolan Group Media and as lead writer for JustTheCats.com media outlet. He also has co-authored two other books on UK hoops.
Vaught, a professor who has just completed his 30th year at Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College, is a longtime credentialed sports columnist in Kentucky. He has covered the Wildcats, including the NCAA Final Four in 2012 and 2015, since his early college days when he was the sports editor of UK student daily newspaper, Kentucky Kernel, and then as sports columnist for The Cats' Pause magazine for 13 years. Vaught, who has an MBA degree, is the founder and editor of KySportsStyle.com Magazine.
