CUMBERLAND, Ky. — Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College has named Dr. Erin Reasor as its new Chief Academic Officer, marking a significant milestone in both the college's future and a family legacy that spans generations.

Reasor brings extensive experience in academic leadership to the role, having served the college in numerous capacities throughout her career, including Director of the Academic Support Center, Director of Institutional Research, Dean of Healthcare and Technical Programming, and most recently as acting Chief Academic Officer. Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing student success, strengthening academic programs, and supporting the college's mission across Southeast's campuses.

For Reasor, however, this appointment carries a deeply personal significance.

Her father, Dr. Odell D. Wilson, dedicated his career to Southeast, serving as a mathematics professor, academic leader, and mentor to countless students before retiring in 2016 after decades of service. Known for his passion for teaching, his gift for storytelling, and his unwavering commitment to students, Wilson left an enduring impact on the college and the communities it serves. He passed away in March 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, education, and service that continues to inspire those who knew him.

Today, his daughter carries that legacy forward.

"I am honored and excited to step into this new role and continue serving Southeast in a new capacity," Reasor said. "This opportunity holds special meaning for me because my father once served as Chief Academic Officer for Southeast, making this a meaningful father-daughter legacy.

"Growing up, I witnessed his dedication to Southeast and the lasting impact the college has on the students and communities we serve, which inspired my own passion for its mission. It is truly an honor to carry that legacy forward while creating my own, and I look forward to working alongside our faculty and staff as we continue building on Southeast's tradition of excellence."

Dr. Lee Harrison, chancellor of Southeast Kentucky CTC, said Reasor's appointment reflects both her exceptional leadership and her steadfast commitment to the college.

"Dr. Reasor has demonstrated a deep commitment to academic excellence, student success, and servant leadership throughout her career," Harrison said. "She understands the needs of our students, values collaboration with our faculty and staff, and has earned the respect of colleagues across the college. While her appointment represents a meaningful continuation of a family legacy, it is also a testament to the outstanding leader she has become in her own right. I am excited to see the vision and innovation she will bring to Southeast's academic programs."

For Reasor, the appointment represents more than a professional achievement—it is the continuation of a lifelong connection and commitment to Southeast.

She grew up watching firsthand the transformative power of education and the profound impact the college has on students, families, and communities throughout southeastern Kentucky. Today, she assumes the same leadership role once held by her father while forging her own path for the next generation of Southeast students.

As Chief Academic Officer, Reasor will oversee all academic affairs for the college, providing leadership for academic programs, faculty, accreditation, institutional effectiveness, and strategic initiatives that support student achievement across Southeast's six-campus service area.

Southeast Kentucky Community and Technical College is part of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System and serves students across Bell, Harlan, Knox, Letcher, and surrounding counties. Through accessible, high-quality education and workforce training, Southeast continues its mission of transforming lives and strengthening the region.
