Butler-Less Kentucky Upsets Tennessee 78-73

No. 12 Kentucky, playing without one of the nation's top point guards in Lamont Butler, managed to win its sixth game against a Top 15 team this season Tuesday night when the Wildcats stopped No. 8 Tennessee 78-73 before 22,272 fans at Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville.

The win improved UK's mark to 15-5 overall and 4-3 in SEC, while Tennessee dropped to 17-4 overall, 4-4 in the league.


Kentucky’s 78 points are the most the Vols have yielded this season.


UK, which hit 12 of 24 three-pointers, had five players scoring in double figures. Koby Brea pumped a team-high 18 points. Jaxson Robinson added 17 points. Amari Williams had 10 points and a game-high 15 rebounds, his fifth double-double of the season.


The Wildcats return home to play host to coach John Calipari's Arkansas team on Saturday. The 9 p.m. ET contest will be televised on ESPN.
