Kentucky Junior Offensive Tackle Landon Young Has Serious Knee Injury, Out for Season

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Offensive tackle Landon Young (pictured) sustained an injury to his right knee during practice on Friday, August 24 and is out for the season, Kentucky football head coach Mark Stoops has announced.

Young, a junior from Lexington, Ky., has been a significant contributor to the UK offensive line over the last two years. As a freshman in 2016, he helped pave the way for Benny Snell and Stanley “Boom” Williams to each rush for more than 1,000 yards, the first time in school history that UK had a pair of 1,000-yard rushers in the same season. Last year, he played in all 13 games, starting six at left tackle. Snell rushed for 1,333 yards, becoming the first player in school history to eclipse 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons, and broke several school records.

Stoops will address the situation during his news conference on Monday.
