LEXINGTON, Ky. – Kickoff for the University of Kentucky’s season-opening football game at Southern Miss on Saturday, Sept. 2 has been set for 4 p.m. EDT Carlisle-Faulkner Field in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The game will be televised live on the CBS Sports Network and broadcast live on the UK Sports Network.

UK leads the all-time series with Southern Miss, 2-1. This marks the second straight season the teams have met in the season opener. The Golden Eagles won last year’s matchup in Lexington, 44-35.
Coach Mark Stoops (pictured) and his Wildcats are coming off a 7-6 campaign, including a bowl trip to Jacksonville where they dropped to Georgia Tech in the TaxSlayer Bowl.
