HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- For the sixth game running, senior Janee Thompson (pictured) scored in double-figures, as her 21 points were enough to power the No. 11 Kentucky women’s basketball team past host Northern Kentucky 84-65 on Wednesday night, Dec. 2, at BB&T Arena.
Thompson, who has now scored 20-plus points in two games this season, scored 10 points in the first half and 11 in the second, while also adding in three rebounds and seven assists. The Chicago native went 6-of-9 from the floor shooting, including 3-of-4 from 3-point range and making six of her seven attempted free throws.
With the win, Kentucky keeps its perfect record intact, starting the season 7-0 for first time since the 2013-14 season, in which UK advanced to the Elite Eight. The Wildcats will put its perfect record on the line when it faces Louisville at Rupp Arena on Dec. 10 at 7 p.m. ET. The game will be shown live on the SEC Network, ESPN3 and the WatchESPN app.
