The Lexington Legends game against the Greenville Drive Thursday night, July 30, in Greenville, South Carolina will be televised by the CBS Sports Network as part of its Minor League Baseball Game of the Week package. The Game of the Week features minor league baseball at all levels. The Legends and the Drive play in the Class A South Atlantic League.
The regular announcing team for the weekly broadcasts consists of Lexington residents Dick Gabriel and Doug Flynn, along with Lauren Gardner.
Gabriel, a three-time winner of the Kentucky Sportscaster of the Year award, is the host of the nightly Big Blue Insider radio program and a longtime member of the University of Kentucky sports network on-air team. Flynn, a former major league player who was a member of the Cincinnati Reds’ 1975 and 1976 World Series championship teams and a 1980 Gold Glove winner with the New York Mets, has done broadcasting work with the Reds and the University of Kentucky. He and Gabriel are in their second year with the CBS Sports Network Minor League Game of the Week.
Gardner, a native of Denver, has served as an in-game host for the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Broncos and Colorado Rockies, and has done work for Fox College Sports, Fox Sports Rocky Mountain and The Mountain Sports Network in addition to CBS Sports Network.
