Frankfort Native Lindsay Ratliff Named 2015 Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival Queen During Memorial

The tradition-rich Kentucky Mountain Laurel Festival, one of the state's most popular events, has just completed another great year after four days of numerous activities in Pineville.

And one of the festival's popular attractions was the Queen's Coronation at the Laurel Cove Amphitheatre of Pine Mountain State Resort Park where the crowning of a new queen took place on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, May 23.

The newly-chosen queen of the 2015 KMLF is Western Kentucky University student Lindsay Ratliff (pictured), beating out 17 other coeds from different colleges and universities in the state of Kentucky. Gov. Steve Beshear, sporting a white dinner jacket with a tux, was on hand to crown the queen.

A native of Frankfort, Ky., the 20-year-old Ratliff is studying agriculture at WKU. The graduate of Western Hills High School replaced 2014 KMLF queen Hannah Isaacs of Somerset Community College.

On Saturday, during the Memorial Day holiday weekend, over 400 hundred photos were taken at the festival's Gala Parade and the Queen's Coronation. We have selected the best ones, in our opinion, and the 50 or so pictures can be seen in PHOTOS menu at the top of this page.
