Patrick Towles Named Starting QB At Kentucky
UK football coach Mark Stoops used his twitter account on Monday, August 18 to announce the starting quarterback for his team's August 30 season opener with UT Martin.
Stoops tweeted, "After thorough evaluation and a hard fought competition, we are naming Patrick Towles (pictured) as our starting quarterback.
"This competition has brought out the best in our quarterbacks and I'm confident in Patrick moving our team forward."
Towles, a 6-5 sophomore from Fort Thomas, Ky., redshirted last season after playing five games as a freshman in 2012. He was a Parade magazine All-American and earned the state of Kentucky's "Mr. Football" honors during his senior year at Highlands High School.
