Former LMU Star Emanuel Terry Earns Spot on Denver Nuggets' Summer League Roster

DENVER, Colo. - Former Lincoln Memorial University All-American forward Emanuel Terry will be joining the Denver Nuggets for minicamp and the 2018 MGM Resorts NBA Summer League, it was made official on Wednesday, June 27. This year's Summer League runs from July 6-17 at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Terry, who becomes the first LMU men's basketball player in program history to earn a spot on an NBA Summer League roster, makes his professional debut when the Nuggets face the Minnesota Timberwolves at 11 p.m. ET on NBA TV. Every Summer League game will air live on television on either the ESPN networks or NBA TV. Terry recently completed the most decorated season in the storied history of the men's basketball program. The 6-9 native of Enterprise, Ala., received virtually every award available to him, including South Atlantic Conference Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, D2CCA Southeast Region Player of the Year, SAC Male Athlete of the Year and National Player of the Year status from Small College Basketball. In addition to that, Terry was a consensus All-American from the D2CCA, DII Bulletin, Basketball Times and the NABC. Terry averaged 16.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game while shooting 71 percent from the field and 70 percent from the free-throw line. With Terry serving as the lynchpin of the team's offensive and defensive attack, the Railsplitters went 32-2 overall and 20-0 in SAC play to win their sixth straight regular-season title. LMU posted its fourth straight 30-win season, won its fourth-ever SAC tournament title and advanced to the Southeast Regional title game for the third year in a row. The Railsplitters also finished the year ranked No. 1 in the nation for the third time in Terry's four-year career. Terry's four seasons at LMU coincided with the most successful four-year stretch in program history. From 2014-18, the Railsplitters compiled an unfathomable 126-14 combined record with four SAC regular-season titles, two tournament championships, four 30-win seasons, two Southeast Regional championships and two appearances in the national semifinals, including a trip to the 2016 National Championship game. In addition to being the winningest player in program history along with Dorian Pinson, Terry is the program's all-time leader in career field-goal percentage and blocked shots. He is the only player in program history to accumulate over 1,000 points, 800 rebounds and 200 blocks in his career. Denver will play three Summer League games before the tournament begins on Wednesday, July 11. The tournament will culminate with the championship game on July 17. For the first time ever, all 30 NBA teams will be competing in the Summer League.
