UK Safety Davonte Robinson Out For Season
LEXINGTON, Kentucky – Davonte Robinson, a junior safety for the Kentucky football team, incurred an injury to his right quadriceps muscle on Tuesday that will require surgery and force him to miss the season, Coach Mark Stoops has announced.
Robinson (pictured), who played at Lexington Henry Clay High School, played in all 13 games last season with three starting assignments. He made 42 tackles, including three for loss, and had four pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. He had a career-high nine tackles vs. Georgia. On the final play of the win at Florida, he picked up a fumble and ran 30 yards for a touchdown, sealing the win over the Gators. He also recovered a fumble in the win over Middle Tennessee.
