Louisville Bats Send Two Relievers to International League All-Star Game



LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The International League has announced two Louisville Bats have been named to the 2018 IL All-Star Team. They are right-handed relief pitchers Kevin Quackenbush and Tanner Rainey (pictured).

Quackenbush has made 21 appearances for Louisville this season, allowing just two runs (one earned run) in 21.1 innings of work, a 0.42 ERA. He’s recorded 8 saves in 9 opportunities, tied for 5th in the International League in saves. He has walked just 2 and struck out 25, with his12.50 strikeout-to-walk ratio leading the IL (min. 20 IP).

Rainey has made 23 appearances for Louisville this season, owning a 1.69 ERA (5er/26.2ip) with 2 saves. He’s walked 19 and struck out 41, with a 2-2 record. He’s allowed opposing hitters to bat just .140 (12-for-86) against him, ranking second in the IL (min. 25 IP).

Both Quackenbush and Rainey have spent time in the big leagues with Cincinnati this season, making a combined 16 appearances out of the Reds’ bullpen.

The 2018 Triple-A All-Star Game will take place on Wednesday, July 11 at Huntington Park in Columbus, Ohio. The 31st annual Triple-A All-Star Game will be televised live on MLB Network. The game will also be available live to MiLB.TV subscribers. The radio broadcast will be carried live on all 30 Triple-A flagship stations, including 790 KRD. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
