UK signee Blair Green (No. 32) gunned in 38 points to spark Harlan County High School to a 68-62 victory over South Laurel in a 13th Region girls semifinal showdown Friday night, March 2, at Corbin. Lainey Cox (No. 14) recorded a double-double for the Lady Bears, scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. South Laurel's Ally Collett (No. 3) scored a team-high 23 points.
Harlan County, 27-2, advances to the 13th Region Championship Game Saturday night, facing North Laurel, which defeated Whitley County 64-44 in the other semifinal Friday night. Madison Sheppard (No. 3) of North Laurel recorded a double-double, hitting 25 points and snatching 12 rebounds, both game-highs.
North Laurel and Harlan County met once earlier this season with the Lady Bears winning 69-56 on the road in late November.
The 13th Region finals will tip off Saturday night, March 3 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
